The "Check First" List
Items That Just Need a Quick Heads-Up
Some items are totally fine to toss, but local landfills and transfer stations charge us extra to process them. We believe in 100% transparency—no hidden fees, just the facts.
Mattresses & Box Springs
Just let us know if you're throwing these in. Local facilities charge a special processing fee for mattresses, so a flat $49 pass-through charge will apply.
Tires
Disposal sites charge extra for rubber tires because they require recycling. If you've got old tires to load, it’s just a flat $25 pass-through fee per tire.
Appliances
Washing machines and dryers are good to go! However, if you are tossing a fridge, freezer, or AC unit, drop us a text first so we can chat about Freon rules.
Concrete, Dirt & Tile
Heavy masonry materials fill up weight limits incredibly fast. If you're ripping out an old patio or tile floor, text us first so we can give you a safe max-fill height.
Roofing Shingles
Shingles are intensely dense and heavy. Before you clear a roof, connect with us so we can make sure you have the perfect dumpster size for the weight.
Paint Cans
Landfills won't take liquid paint because it leaks. Pro-tip: stir some kitty litter or sand into the cans to dry them out completely, pop the lids off, and toss away!
Our Upfront, Handshake Policy
We don't do surprise upcharges at pickup. If you have mattresses or tires, just give us a heads-up beforehand. We simply pass through the exact disposal fees the local facility charges us—keeping things fair, transparent, and neighborhood-friendly.

Dumpster Rental Do's & Don'ts FAQ
Can I put wet paint in the dumpster?
Yes, but only if the paint container is sealed tightly and placed inside a sealed bag. Do not pour paint into the dumpster or leave loose liquid where it can spill.
Can lithium batteries go in the dumpster?
No. Lithium batteries are a fire risk and should never be placed in the dumpster. This includes tool batteries, e-bike batteries, laptop batteries, power banks, and battery packs.
What should I do with car batteries and used motor oil?
Leave car batteries and up to 5 gallons of used motor oil outside the dumpster, clearly visible, and tell us before pickup. We can recycle those items, but they should not be placed inside the dumpster.
Are mattresses and appliances allowed?
Ask first. These items may be accepted, but landfills and transfer stations sometimes charge separate disposal or handling fees. If we are charged a mattress fee, a $49 special-handling charge applies. Appliances, refrigerant-containing items, and similar materials should be disclosed before pickup so the process stays transparent.
Can tires go in the dumpster?
Ask first before loading tires. Some disposal facilities charge extra for tires. If Little Junkers is charged a tire disposal fee, a $25 special-handling charge applies per tire.
What happens if the dumpster is overloaded?
If debris is above the top rail or the load is unsafe to haul, some items may need to be removed before pickup. Overloaded or overweight dumpsters can also result in extra handling or disposal charges.
